In the morning of July 10 in Ha Tinh Province, our company cooperated with Ha Tinh authorities to organize a memorable donation ceremony for poor students and launch a free eye surgery program for poor patients with a total amount up to VND 400 million.
Participated at the event, there were Mr. Park Young Ho – Formosa Project Director, leaders of Ha Tinh province, more than 200 poor students and company’s volunteer staff.
100 scholarships and 80 bicycles worth of VND 196,000,000 from our employee donation were granted to more than 200 poor pupils excelling in studies that help shorten their journey to schools and encourage them to never give up on their education. The rest of donated Items and money were then delivered to Ha Tinh Orphans Village where most of the local unfortunates find shelter. We believe these small gifts from our employees are supporting hopes and dreams of these young generations to strive for a better future and to start making positive changes to their community.
The event series ended with a visit to Ky Anh Hospital where 30 poor patients were having free eye surgery. This is the second year we have collaborated with local hospitals to create more life changing opportunities for poor residents with eye and vision problems.
Addressing at the event, Mr. Park Young Ho emphasized the crucial link between the company’s business performance and its’ social responsibility. He believed POSCO E&C would continue to contribute actively to the local development by not just healthy business performance but also insightful social welfare activities.
